Aftercare & Maintenance

Lash extensions are semi-permanent and can last an entire natural growth cycle. Like any other hair on our bodies, our lashes shed. When our lashes shed, the extension goes with it. We lose anywhere from 2-5 lashes per eye, per day. This shedding occurs with or without having extensions applied. Because of this, you'll need a touch-up every two to three weeks to keep your lashes full. Retention rates can vary depending on aftercare as well. It's important that you properly care for your lashes and keep them clean and oil-free, as oil tends to weaken the adhesive bond and affect retention. You'll find all the do's and don'ts and proper steps to take listed below. Following these instructions will protect your investment and ensure your lashes stay as full as possible between touch-ups.

CLEAN YOUR LASHES

Be sure to cleanse your lashes daily using an oil-free, extension-safe cleanser. Rinse with water and blot the excess with a tissue.

DRY YOUR LASHES

We recommend using the "cool shot" and "low" settings on your blow dryer to fluff and dry your lashes. Once dry, you may comb them.

COMB YOUR LASHES

Be sure to comb your lashes daily. This will keep your lashes styled and facing in the right direction.

OIL-FREE MAKEUP REMOVER

Remove your makeup using an oil-free makeup remover and avoid cotton around the lash line. Small strands of cotton can snag and pull your extensions.

FACIAL CREAMS

It's recommended to apply your nighttime facial creams at least one hour before bed to avoid any oil transfer. Morning creams can be applied as usual.

KEEP IT COOL

Be careful around extreme heat and open flames. For example, opening an oven or standing over a grill. High temperatures can singe your lashes and straighten your extensions, causing tangling and damage. Avoid saunas and steam rooms as well.

NO PICKING

Avoid pulling, picking, or tugging at your lashes. This can cause damage and premature loss of extensions. Keep in mind that your lashes should never hurt or feel uncomfortable. if this occurs, please contact us immediately.

SLEEP ON YOUR BACK

Sleeping on your back isn't only great for your extensions. It's wonderful in preventing wrinkles as well. Try a satin pillowcase for extra protection or a contoured lash mask.

DITCH THE MASCARA + OIL-BASED EYE PRODUCTS

You won't need mascara anyway! Avoid all oil-based makeup and primers around the eyes. Oily products will cause your extensions to fall off prematurely. There are plenty of extension-safe eyeliners available and most use one already without knowing it. All you need to do is check the ingredients. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

FACIALS

Ask your aesthetician to cover your lashes while receiving a steam facial or any sort of toning mist.

SCHEDULE TOUCH-UPS EVERY 2-3 WEEKS

Pre-booking your appointments will ensure that you get the date and time that you prefer. It will also help you to avoid losing more than 40% of your lashes before your appointment and is a guarantee that your lashes will always look great! If you lose too many lashes and go too long between touch-ups, you'll have to have a new set applied.
